Key fobs may stop working due to a number of reasons, including a dead battery, worn-out buttons signal interference or water damage. Here are some helpful tips to assist you in getting your Kia key fob that is a replacement for the sportage for good.
How to replace kia sportage key fob or the smart key?
Whether your Kia is equipped with an intelligent key, remote key push to start key, or a regular non-transponder metal key The battery inside these keys will eventually require replacing. This is particularly true if the car displays a message indicating that the smart key or remote has a low battery.
Luckily, this is an easy process. To replace the battery in the key fob take the mechanical key from the slit at the back of the key fob. Next, break the cover. A small screw will be inside the key fob, which holds the battery in place. Remove the old battery by unscrewing the screw with a small screwdriver. Then insert the new one and close the slit on the key fob.

After the key fob has been opened, remove the battery that was in it. The new battery is a CR-2032, and can be bought on the internet or at your local auto parts store. When you are done, you should be able to lock and unlock your car with your key fob even if your engine isn't running!
